Shark Liver Oil differs from traditional cod liver oil in that, instead of being rich in omega-3 fatty acids, it is rich in alkylglycerols. Shark liver oil is therefore a good supplement to traditional Cod Liver Oil consumption but does not replace it.

Alkylglycerols are found in healthy bone marrow and breast milk, although not in the same quantities as those found in Shark Liver Oil.
